Implementation Methodology
IST exercises the Direct Method, which is a project
management method with objective of knowledge
transfer.
IST Direct Method divides into three stages,
consisting of:
- Pre-implementation: this is the initial stage where an IST Pre-implementation Form is filled compiling information from the customer to help determine the basic requirements and approaches. Once accomplish contentment and TOR negotiation, the next live demonstrations are conducted as an initial introduction on IST-ERP for shipping & Logistics services features to the concerned stage appears.
- Implementation,
this involves:
1. Mapping: Studying the customer(s) Business
Process
2. Modification: System modification and users
acceptance
3. Operational: includes end user training,
data entry and life operation
- Optimization, this involves phasing which is
elaborated in, wherever the right method is applied
based on mutual agreement with the customer
2- Methodology:
IST methodology is more than a simple set of
methods; rather it refers to the rationale
and the philosophical assumptions that
underlie a particular study relative to the
scientific method.
This refers to anything and everything that can be encapsulated for a discipline or a series of processes, activities and tasks, which are found in software development, project management and business process fields. This use is typified by the outline who, what, where, when, and why. At IST the processes themselves are only part of the methodology along with the identification and usage of the standards, policies, rules, etc.

problem-solving through fixed phone and mobile
communicatio

Project Management
A team from IST and the client will
be formed immediately after signing the contract
(project manager from IST and project manager from
Client/Company) to manage all the project steps to
grant integration, smooth operation and experience
transfer. Coordination will be part of the project
managers’ responsibilities.
A. Training Version Installation:
IST specialist will install a training version of the system on the customer hardware.
Objective: System orientation for client involved staff.
Pre-requisite: Project has started.
B. Gap Analysis:
Objective: Systems gap analysis for new requirements.
Pre-requisite: Client has prepared Lay out of the needed Reports and functions by the management.
Deliverables: IST to provide a list of required modifications.
C. Requirement List Acceptance:
Objective: Assuring and acceptance of the requirements list by Client.
Pre-requisite: The requirements list.
Deliverables: The client /IST to provide signed requirements list.
D. Training:
Objective:
System training for super users, training for each
application.
Training schedule for sessions and on-hands
training.
Pre-requisite: Client trainees must possess the required knowledge and skills.
Deliverables: IST to provide Training evaluation document.
E. Master Data Entry:
Objective: Entry of all the master data using a batch or manually.
Pre-requisite: Master data in excel sheet
Deliverables: System including all master data as per the list of requirements.
F. Test version installation:
Objective: System Total Acceptance.
Pre-requisite: Client stuff training has completed
Deliverables: System Total Acceptance report.
G. Production Version Installation:
Objective: System go-life.
Pre-requisite: System Total Acceptance has completed
Deliverables: Production version installation report.
H. System Go Life:
Objective: System go life.
Pre-requisite: System Total Acceptance has completed

People designation:
1) Trainees:
The employees who will undergo the training process
in their day-by-day profession, If the availability
of such
employees is easier said than done, it is
recommended to select expert, skilled and
unprejudiced employee, on department, function &
process basis, who has the capability and skills to
train the rest of his colleagues to act as a
dedicated trainee.
2) Trainer: A member of IST team who conducts the training sessions
3) Technical Expert: IST team member who has a strong understanding of design aspects and the project’s internals. This person will provide First Line Help & Support.
4) Training Contact: The person who will perform the contact between the client and IST for the software aspects of the project and after acceptance
5) Project Manager: IST team member who is in charge of the project. He will be actively involved in the different steps of the project
6) Project Sponsor (managerial level): The person who signs agreements and has budgetary control
Project Procedures:
1) Holding work-group meetings as the project steps progresses. IST Project Manager will be in charge of such meetings
2) Project language will be both Arabic & English.
3) Holding many sessions during the Training.
4) Regularly holing project meeting to report on the progress of the training. Project Managers from both parties will at least attend the project meetings
5) Software training according to the scheduled training list
